Default 94 Land Rover - Water Pump Questions

Hi Guys,

I pour antifreeze into the overflow and a stream of antifreeze pours down the front of the engine - I can't see the spot it is leaking -

Prior to failure - I could hear some bearing noise at the front end - At the time, I checked the oil and it was a quart low. So I added oil and daughter took her for a mall run.

Fortunately the failure occurred just as she pulled into the drive - There doesn't seem to be any head damage with over heating. The oil is still clean and "water" free. Not so sure about oil in the water - as the water system is compromised at the moment.

I am seeking any input from anyone who has done this job and/or related work.

I intend to remove the radiator so any help insight on doing that would also be helpful -

Also - the local Autozone/Kragen want 200+ for the part - It seems much less expensive to get it online.
Any Replacement WaterPump Suggestions? Your input will be greatly appreciated..

I also will be pic-docing the process and will do a write up on this topic.

Thanks for you input!!! Any and all is (again) highly appreciated!!!

Trav!!!

Why remove the radiator? That would be a first for a water pump replacement. The anti-freeze is leaking from the weep hole. Once the bearing seal is compromised that's where it exits. Rovahfarm, two listed depending on how deep your pocket is.

Do the doc but it's so basic (along with spark plugs and air filters) that many of us here have replaced them several times in our lives. It's not a big deal, really. But by all means have at it........honestly the only issue is not getting the bolt lengths switched up when reinstalling and that also is common with just about every water pump application on the planet.
