Default '95 Disco wont crank or turn over

I've got a 1995 disco, and today when I went to start it up, nothing.

I can hear the fuel pump run and all the indicator lights turn on on the dash. Battery is good, leads to starter are good. Reset inertia swich in hope that would fix the problem (it worked once before)

The last few days it would crank and turn over, but it was slower than usual.

My mechanic, who works with LRs said it's probably the starter, but I waned to get some other opinions. Mechanic shop closed for a few weeks.

Other possibly related info, I do have the apparent sun roof leak and oil leak issue. I don't know if it could be a short or what. I've tried everything I can think of at this point without taking things apart and starting to replace parts.

Any thoughtst?

When the brushes become short in a starter it requires more amps to turn an engine over. There are four brushes in the starter, you probably have two left. Basically your overheating the starter. I would start there (hehe) and work your way up.
