96 D1 Won't Fire after Plug Wire Change
Yea I might just do that. I'm replacing the filter anyways so I'll run it through before I do that.

If you have a 4.0 GEMS in your truck, you may be using an incorrect firing order.
Rave indicates it should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
I'm thinking of changing my plugs/wires soon so any clarity on this will be helpful. Of course I could just examine the current config in the truck.
You know what my mistake was all along.. I assumed the Coil Packs were in order.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.
It wasn't till later that I found a diagram in rave that actually showed which coil pack was which. I'll never understand why Engineers brains don't function logically like the average persons.

Ah, I see now. You listed them as from the end position on the coil pack to the cylinder....which, after translation, is correct.
I'm sure there is some fancy engineering answer as to why the coil packs don't correlate to the firing order.

That's what I use to always think. But I have a few engineering mates and over the past few years I've learnt that often there really is no good answer. Engineers are a weird bunch, I swear they just enjoy screwing with people.
