Hello fellow Rovers!,
I just recently purchased a 96 Disco 1 SD. I feel it has good bones, strong engine, solid transmission, transfer case straight rust free frame etc. The interior is a bit trashed, lots of little issues I am looking forward to addressing. I've been combing through the tech section as diligently as I can but still have questions, so many questions. Luckily, I know a few D1 owners, and planning on taping them for help in the coming new year..

First of many questions: My power steering is out, There is power steering fluid all around the pump, I believe that the seals are eaten up. I've read that there is a power steering pump rebuild/seal kit (Kotek SK-9170). Is this just for the pump used in the D2's? If so is there one for the D1?

I did the Chevy pump - honestly wouldn't recommend it, it was way more a pain in the **** than I anticipated as it's not a direct swap. Check your local junkyards and go pull every D1 PS pump you can find. One of them is bound to be good - then you might have a few backups for when that one goes.
