26 will is clearly under-inflated these days. You'll wear out the outside of the tread much faster. I'm now running 32 front / 36 rear on Continental Crosscontact LX20s. Compared to 26 / 36 it feels 'light' but I figure it is safer and better for gas mileage.

Had more troubles with bouncing tires again, I found a bunch of snow stuck to the inside of the rim. Probably won't melt soon as it is below zero out right now.

Never had this much trouble before, makes me think that maybe the Cooper tires I have are the problem(???)

Too much air in the tires (fronts at least) will definitely make it very twitchy - I was chasing a wobble in my front end for weeks, checking and rechecking everything, except tire pressure. Lowered it and the wobble disappeared.

Read a neat trick - draw a straight line across your front tires then roll backwards (or forwards) a couple revolutions. Chalk wear is even? You're good. If it's worn in the center but visible on the sides you're at too much, if it's worn on the sides but not in the center you're at too little. Check that against the recommended pressure for the Discovery.

Yup, that's what I found. amazingly the place that re-balanced my tires left 22 PSI in one tire, and 44 in the rest. That's customer service for you!!
