Default 98 Disco 1

Good day folks I need a little help before taking my Land Rover to the Stealership that's backed up till Dec 15th. I had a great running Disco 1 about a week ago and noticed my interior dash lights not working. So started removing fuses to check blow ones and also checked and removed the ones in the engine bay. I try to start the truck and nothing happens. I then decide to lock the truck and know I see the red dash flashing fast and then slowing done. I bought a Foxwell NT520 code reader thinking I could pull the EKA code no luck. Is there any code reader that a DIY can rent or purchase to de-activate the cars immobliser. Note purchased truck Aug 2018 with a key fob.

Start first by checking your battery for voltage with a meter, check for corrosion on battery cables, loose or corrosion on both ground cables (cable 1-battery to body, body to chassis, and cable 2-chassis to engine). Most common place to start checking on a D1.

Do a search here but im sure the red light dash has something to do with you locking the doors. Maybe the anti-lock switch, i dunno. Whatever you do, DO NOT take it to the dealer. Find a local indy shop. Or be patient and ask here. Those on the forum here are wizards.

The lack of dash lights is due to a problem in your tail lights. The system is actually set up that way. Check all bulbs and connections on the tail lights.

The very separate issue of the truck being 'dead' is that the truck was immobilised by the alarm system. Generally you can use the fob to lock/unlock the system.

If not you may need to enter the EKA (Emergency Key Access) code. On the D1 the code is likely to be 1-5-1-5. Instructions here....

Default Question about re-syncing my becum 98 Disco 1

Hey guys I tried the 1515 eka code with no luck. I did notice during the key turning sequence my headlights and lights would go on and off maybe indicating input of the codes. I searched online and found that Hawkeye Pro will access my Discovery 1 becm and ecu systems they is used to reprogram swapped unit. Does anyone have a DIY hack or affordable OBD2 that will re-sync my land rover?
