Default ABS light fading on and off while towing.

Title says it all. I was pulling a 18' trailer rated at 20k# this weekend with my D1. While driving, the ABS light would slowly light up, then fade back out. Any ideas why? I am thinking wiring or connectors...I have not crawled under to check the sensors yet. I was under the impression the lights were either on or off.

Man are you going to get yelled at....I have no idea why that would happen.
How much tongue weight was there? Maybe they were grounding out as you went over bumps?

Actually, the lights were not hooked up. It was the first time towing with the Disco and I didn't see any light harness to connect to. Tongue weight was nothing. It was a tandem axle trailer that was perfectly balanced(seriously). I know the Disco is not to exceed 350# tongue weight. Had no issues pulling at 45(speed limit was 50). Just had to drop a gear when going up hills(gotta love the 5-speed).

After I got rid of the trailer the light went completely out and has not come back.

Maybe the extra weight was enough to make one of the sensors do something wierd.

Are you saying the ABS light is not constantly on with your DI?

My ABS functions flawlessly(for now). The light is never on except when you first turn the key on, when the ecu performs the bulb test.

The trailer connector is over by the pax tail light, but it is the british style one, I have heard of people having problems with it and the typical trailer plug wiring.

Hmm...I just figured it was a dealer option that hadn't been installed. Guess I should get the lights taken care of before towing again.

What I meant was maybe the ABS sensors/wires wear shorting out because of the tongue weight.
The tongue weight is 500lbs isn't it?
