Alarm Issue
I figured that was the case. In light of that...
1. Why is dcarr not affected by the lack of the switch wire?
2. if I cant find the wire, is there anything I can do to disable the alarm?

No. Sorry for any confusion. My alarm LED does blink whenever I lock the doors with either the key or the FOB. My reference to the spider was a shot at trying to kill the alarm for you. I have no idea why not having the switch doesn't cause problems for me. I've always just figured the alarm is controlled from the lock solenoid, and isn't dependent upon the switch...I know that I 'fixed' a haywire alarm on a friends '95 with no FOB and a broken lock by pulling the door panel and manually working the plunger on the actuator from the locked to unlocked position 3+ times...
