Exclamation Update 2/13/2025

Sorry for gap in updates, but was able to get the coil pack wires in a sleeve, and on the coil pack that came on the Disco when I got it, and then did the same for the loom side wires/plug that I took off the donor engine harness I got ages ago. Got it all soldered on yesterday evening, and it started, well sorta kinda. Was really rough and constantly dying, or sounding like it was struggling to stay running, but eventually got it to the point where it would stay running and idle normally. Not sure if it's just starting/running rough at first because it sat for so long and the repeated attempts to start but no fire things got a bit nasty with the gas that was in it, that is kinda old(bout 8 months or so), or maybe some water in the gas as well. Should also mention when it would hesitate to stay running it was blowing little smoke rings, but once it got running it just smoked as bad as Cheech and Chong :P

Went out today and fired it up after several attempts, and eventually got it to idle and warm up, but stalled it as I haven't driven a stick in a long time, and it is on a hill lol, but got it started again and took it on a drive down the road I live off of and back (1/2 mile total) and it ran fine. Drove it back up my hill, and used the passenger side wheels to dig out the ditch as I used to always do with no issues there either. After getting back I waited for a bit and let it sit, then went back out and it fired right up, so I am hoping it's just having to deal with all the gas from repeated attempts at starting, and slightly old gas, and it will be fine. Threw some Lucas fuel system cleaner in it before going on the drive, and on next no rain day going to go up and check plugs to see if they need cleaned, and compression since I will have plugs out. I don't think there is any need for compression check, but may as well, and it was blowing quite a bit of white smoke, no blueish/grey tint so it's not burning oil, prob just crap gas, and crap in the exhaust from sitting, but better safe than sorry. Will post a final update once I have done that, but honestly I think it's good. Also will be able to for certain say if the battery drain that started this whole adventure is dealt with or not as it is supposed to rain till sometime next Wed.

Hope you all are doing well, and will keep you updated if anything changes
The repaired CKP wiring and coil pack wiring, a little long, but plan to zip tie them up so they are out of the way/safe.

Talking Final Update 2/24/2025

Sorry for the very late final update, but things got rather busy, and weather decided to be southern Oregon weather. Meaning oh it's supposed to be semi clear today, nupe gonna pour down rain, oh it's supposed to rain, mostly cloudy, and rain off and on. Anyway after the initial rough running/starting I figured it was something still going on as it did throw a couple codes for rough terrain and a code that was usually something to do with the MAF. I checked and cleaned the MAF, and reset the codes also checking the plugs, but they were fine, but did totally forget about the compression test. However after a few times of starting and letting it warm up and run for about 20 min at idle it seems to be running fine. So I am thinking it's just the gas and that it isn't the greatest, but not to the point of being unusable, so I put in some Seafoam after adding some Lucas fuel cleaner and let it run for a while each time I start it, and it does smoke a bit, but then runs fine once warmed.

As far as the battery drain I am marking that as solved, it is something with the window lift ECU that belongs in the car that was re soldered where needed. Why is kind of a mystery as with it in, after first plugging it in, the windows will only work with the key in the on position, but once that has happened it will go back to working even with the key off and out of the ignition. So for now I am using the one out of my mother's 95 as it works as intended with it plugged in. Going to go through eventually and test the one out of mine and see if I can't get it to work correctly, or just rig up a kill switch for it somewhere.

I would like to thank you all so very much for your assistance, suggestions, and patience with all of this, and it going from a battery drain, to not wanting to start. I greatly appreciate it. Hope you all are having a good one.
