Caliper Seize due to ABS?
Hi everyone,
Replaced my front wheel rotors, brake lines, calipers, brake pads, and ABS speed sensors 2 months ago.
The other day I was driving and while braking just before coming to a stop I heard a harsh scraping, screeching noise. This happened a couple of times that drive and then resolved.
Later that night I drove again and the scraping, screeching noise was constant whenever the vehicle was moving and the sound seemed to be coming from the right front wheel (as it had earlier that day). My ABS system kicked in a couple of times when I attempted to brake and then eventually my ABS light came on indicating the system turned itself off.
After the ABS system turned itself off the screeching/scraping noise went away for the rest of the drive.
Is it possible that the ABS speed sensor I placed at the front right wheel has gone to crap and is engaging the caliper/brake until the ECU detects a fault and then shuts the system off?
Thanks!
