Default car stalls when ac on

Now that summer is almost upon us, I wanted to know if anyone has an idea why my car stalls out when the ac is on. 95 discovery

The most common culprit is the idle air control valve. It is mounted on the side of the throttle plate, one connector and two screws.

What he said, the IACV is what controls the idle speed and if it is not compensating for the extra load on the engine it will stall.

Rock Auto, or other suppliers. But perhaps it can be cleaned. Remove it, use carb cleaner spray, do not move the tip, just spray all the gunk off. Also clean the bore it fits into. The tip is part of a 200 position stepper motor, don't want to force it in either direction. If you power it up (turn key but don't crank) you should see it move in or out.

Thanks, I had a vacuum leak as well. Cleaned it per Savannah. Glad I saw the ac delco part number on another thread for future reference. By now, I have more in the car than it's worth, lol. I like it anyway. At this rate will have to keep my toes crossed as well as my fingers.
