Default Codes I pulled

Well I finally got to the auto store to borrow their scanner and check my disco. So here are the codes that it pulled, I am guessing everything is being caused by bad o2 sensors from the looks of it. So would I be correct in thinking new spark plugs and wires, along with 2 new o2 sensors would solve my problems? No sure about the misfire damage to catalyst bank a though.

p1316 - misfire causing excessive emissions
p1187 - HO2s heater short circuit, upstream sensor
p1191 - HO2s heater short circuit, downstream sensor
p0300 - random misfire detected
p0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire
p0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire
p0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire
p1194 - HO2s heater circuit high resistance, downstream sensor
p1313 - misfire likely damage to catalyst Bank A

Thanks for any help.

You have made a good diagnosis. Before swap of O2 sensors have a good look at their connections, checked for melted cable, etc. The codes indicate misfires at a level that can damage cats, not that cats have actually been damaged. But they could be with continued operation.

95% of all O2 codes are caused by misfires.
Do the tune up first, then clear the codes and see what comes back.

Default Question

Ok, so I started pulling the spark plugs and for giggles checked to see if I was getting good spark. And with the misfires and codes I was pulling (seen above in older post) would the misfires and clogged o2 sensors still give spark or not? I guess I am not totally sure what a misfire is or what causes it. My thought was if there was a misfire then why is there a good spark? Any thoughts or corrections on my thoughts, it is appreciated.

Mis fires are caused by weak spark or no spark at all.
Worn out spark plugs will have weak spark, weak spark does not burn the fuel efficiently either.
Weak spark is also caused by bad plug wires, if there is not enough electricity getting to the spark plugs you will have weak spark.
A tune up is cheap maintenance, so thats where you start.
The O2's have NOTHING to do with spark, they are FUELING only.
The O2's read the oxygen level in the exhaust and tell the ECU how much fuel the engine needs.
Weak spark (remember the not burning fuel efficiently part?) sends raw fuel down the exhaust, the O2's read that as not enough oxygen in the exhaust.
Once there gets to be way to much raw fuel sent downstream the ECU reads the O2's as defective and throws O2 codes.
Start with the tune up.
