I would check the teeth on the flywheel to make sure they are not bent/missing. There defiantly has been some contact there.

Amazingly, none were bent. Well, until my bar slipped when I was unbolting the Torque Converter.

Oops. Sure can tell the motor had a few miles on er. You have two quarts of oil just waiting to be changed on the outside of the motor..

That's its winter coat.

PO had a rover cannibal motor dropped in 15 years ago.

Head gaskets & up and oil pan gasket are all I'm going to worry with.

Does it winter in Siberia? Looks like a baby seal, probably would float in a kiddie pool.

I like the plan, why put allot into it if the guts are good...... although wasn't there issues with the Cannibal motors..........? You know, If I had my motor hang'n on a string I'd zip a 4.6 crank n rods in it just for giggles. You never know, you might fall in love with it all over again.

Baby seal. Good one!
The engine was running great right until I crawled under it and yanked out the crank sensor.
As far as slapping a 4.6 crank & rods in there, I'd rather go the LS 6L80E route.
Just had the cats gutted for chits and giggles. (cut out and pipe welded in their place)
