I hope most do as well, but the Ebay ones = are just parts pulling people basically and if it doesn't include the paired alarm box it's a 50/50 chance. I have a Lynx programmer, but it seems to do more harm than good when messing with the alarm box programming lol.

I've had good success pulling error codes, setting eka codes and such, and disabling the IMMO on the alarm boxes so you just retain the Central Locking.
(My rover lives in the garage and I am usually in decent areas to not worry about theft)

Is that with a Lynx? Or T4/Auto Logic?

AH, sorry. I meant to clarify with the FaultMate system.

Pain in the butt to get intouch with the company and get it going, faults out sometimes and wont respond, but its great the rest of the time.
Licensing is $$$$$

Gotcha I was about to say maybe my Lynx software version must be buggy lol. I tried to contact Lynx and they basically tell ya to contact Britpart, then you contact Britpart and they tell ya to contact Lynx.

Only thing I have currently listed (ill go look at my stock when I get off today) is a ERR6738.
$75 is usually what they end up going for online.

Like posted above, you can run any ecu really, its just going to throw codes if it doesnt match the right evap system. I never really noticed a difference in power/ fuel econ (granted i to have larger tires/weight/etc).

I have a Range Rover P38 ecu in mine thats running fine. It just throws a code for the transfer case signal that the P38 has and the D1 doesnt. Planning to fix that one of these days.

Just trying to make this thing run! my old D1 (1997) that I am driving now has way too much rust and 200+k miles, it has been a good truck but it is time to pull the plug. The new one (1999) is in much better shape with no rust, and 139K miles so it should last for a bit. Just want to get it running before the old one dies completely. When I bought it, I did get it running and put a couple hundred miles on it before it wouldn't start. luckily it was somewhat close to home.

Not sure what the difference in the various computers are, this truck has the AEL system and I am not too concerned about remote locking or even central locking, As far as I am concerned even the alarm system could go away and I'd be happy.

Read this whole thread... so what is the consensus for the at home DIY mechanic who wants to address a 96 D1 alarm system/locking, SRS, and adaptive reset all with one software system? Lynx, T4/AutoLogix, or HawkEye?

I figure if I am committed to this thing I might as well be able to handle everything on the software side.

From what I could figure out, T4 is the best, but it requires a stand alone computer and software with lots of different cables and connectors for the different years. Hawkeye is mostly for the D2 and up. Not much for the D1... Nanocom is probably the best cheaper choice, but it looks to be quite complex once you get in there. Lynx appears to mostly be for European systems.

Most of the generic ones won't talk to the alarm system and they would be a waste of time, etc on a D1. they would work better on a D2 and newer. I have located a local shop that says they can talk to my D1 but I haven't got it down there yet. I believe I need an ECU computer besides the security ECU that I already replaced. Yes it is very confusing.
