Discovery 1 cruise control

Default Discovery 1 cruise control

Hi everyone.i have removed the cruise control mechanism under bonnet. Switch off the brake pedal.does anyone know if i removed the ecu and wiring would it affect anything. Why .because its not worth having on .cheers chaps.

Why??? it doesn't take up that much room, not really in the way, I'd just leave it in there.

Honestly you're looking for trouble tearing things out just because they're "not worth having." It's a 20-something-year-old truck, the few pounds of wiring you might remove just because some systems don't need to be there is not worth the hassle if you mess something up. Leave it alone. Also, you removed your brake light switch? How's that working out?

Pretty sure he means the switch on the brake pedal that cuts the vacuum for the cruise. It's separate from the brake light switch.

You can remove the ECU no problem. I wouldn't bother with the wiring.
