Question Discovery 1 shifts out of park but the breaks are still

My car was recently in a wreck and the engine is running, everything seemed to be working this morning. After changing out the headlights we tried to take the land rover out for a test drive and the brakes suddenly wouldn't let the car even budge(we could still change gears and move the shifter). After waiting about an hour we tried again and this time if we pressed down on the gas the car would move but it was like the brakes were still stuck, after driving the car we could see smoke and smell the breaks burning.
Any thoughts on whats wrong?
Thanks

Possibly a pinched brake line or a broken (or missing) caliper bolt. when that happens, the caliper jams on the inside of the rim and locks things up. Been there!

Are all brakes smoking? Did you do a walk around and check all corners? If one caliper is binding it should not affect all corners and if only one front is binding: you should feel it pulling that direction. And I assume e-brake is off.

Yeah I actually think only the front right break was smoking, maybe the front two don't remember completely. And yes e-brake was off.
Thanks for the reply.

Agree with others

check your brake lines, calipers. jack up the vehicle, see which wheels will move and which will not. Move forward and service your brakes depending on what area is the issue (stuck caliper, pinched line, etc.
