So we've had a bit of a development. Discojag, i appreciate the time for the input and im really really glad that it sounds like thats NOT what im dealing with. After the truck cooled yesterday i went in and checked my plug wires because all the misfire codes made me think i had a bad connection and guess what. one of the wires was OFF the coilpack. So im thinking thats what would cause my three codes "multiple misfire, cylinder3 misfire, and misfire excessive emission. So i reset the codes and now im putting the miles on it waiting for it to either say "ready" on the scanner or throw code. I'm CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. but i have no idea how the wire jumped off my coil pack. Who ever gets bigger 8mm wires, DEF get the bigger wire looms to hold everything in place correctly. I'll keep you all posted.

Thank you ALL for the input and help

Next up (my cold start issue)

I am glad to hear that it passed, especially since PA has the damn emissions requirements. Mine will be due soon.

Verifying spark plug wires is always a good place to start, especially since it is free.

Let us know how those Kingsborne wires work out. I need new wires and was planning on getting those myself. Are they good or not?

i mean define good. They came numbered but the numbers didnt coincide to the cylinders or the right lengths. They were all a bit too long, i DEF should have ordered the 8mm wire looms, and im not thrilled with the fit at the coil pack, but for 40 bucks in pretty red (or blue or whatever), they work just fine. but it's not like i now get 35mpg and can do the 1/4 mile in 10 flat. IDK, im not the most observant dude, and i haven't noticed a difference, thats not to say that there isn't one. Keep in mind, i have cold start issues which could be effecting my trucks inability to fire right up. But when it's hot, i abrely have to turn the key. it jumps to life
(probably because i've put 100 starters in this truck)
