Exclamation Transfer case plug.

Took a break from redoing the interior of the truck and decided to take a moment to change the transfer case fluid.

When I threaded it back on and tightened it the magnet snapped and the plug broke. Well it has completely strpped the inside and the magnet is in there with about one and a half threads. There are no threads in the hole other than the ones holding in the mag. Damn.

Was thinking of using ezlok, drill and plug with some jb weld as I've read on some jeep forums.

Has anyone dealt with this here? What is the part number for the plug.

I have some time as I can bike to work ( philadelphia) but I have to get this fixed to drive to and on the beach in Oct. for a wedding.

If anyone has used the ezlok system or something else please chime in. I have a feeling this little plug is going to hurt my wallet.

see LAND ROVER PARTS - DRAIN PLUG - MAGNETIC, not sure about the thread pitch. This is one of those places where you want to have the magnetic drain plug. Online or a dismantler or a salvage yard.

Would suggest you try to remove the plate on the transfer case, and get at the parts from the back side, or at least be able to easily deal with any metal crap produced by drilling it out. see https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=27159 for pictures. I think I had to loosen a heat shield at one corner.
