Yes, all the fuses in the panel are solid.

Im having trouble finding the correct wiring diagram, in the electrical section of the D1 manual (page 815/976 in PDF) it states "Circut diagrams are covered in the Discovery Electrical troubleshooting manual"

Problem solved!

Dead short in the drivers side bumper tail light burnt up the headlight switch. Bypassing the switch gave me dash and tails, but blew the LH side light fuse. traced the wire back and replaced the bulb holder on the bumper light. all is well..

I checked the tail lights countless times but never thought to check the bumper tails.. go figure.
