Default Which fuel system?

I have a 1998 Disco LE. Does it use the SFI? Am I reading this manual right?

EFI, each cylinder has its own injector.
Sequential port fuel injection works like a carb, it squirts fuel into the intake and then its sucked into each cylinder as the intake valve opens.

So... I am sorry for coming off as thick here. I am looking at the D1_Workshop_manual.pdf as downloaded from land rover service factory manual RAVE download land rover resource, service manual, workshop factory manual, download, rave, vehicles including discovery, series, defender, range rover, freelander, LR3, Handbooks, Catalog, Catalogue, Land Rover Inte

I am trying to troubleshoot a number of idle/rough-start issues. The reason for the original question is that it has a few sections marked "Fuel System".. The choices being Tdi, MFI, SFI and Mpi. I ruled out Tdi (because obviously I own the petrol version) and the Mpi. The MFI version, when outlining the parts for the fuel system indicated it was distributed ignition and also looked to use a different type of MAF Sensor. This left the section marked "19 - FUEL SYSTEM - SFI" as the only rational choice. I also (upon further reading) says it uses a multiport fuel injection system....

This is terribly convoluted.

You have SFI, go through the description of parts in the "Fuel system - SFI" section of the rave manual, you will see that all the parts described are on your Rover. The type of fuel injection that squirts fuel into the intake is called TBI (throttle body injection), or CIS(continuous injection system), neither of which were ever used on a LR (or at least the ones I know about which stop at 2004, don't know about the newer ones but I seriously doubt that they do)

Edit, oh, you already figured that out.

That's what I thought, bk. I just wanted to hear someone else say it. Thank you!

There are different engine fuel systems for different parts of the world, the RAVE covers all of them.
