Fuel tank question....sorry
Do you really want to drop the tank? Can't you see what I'm trying to tell you without telling you? Yes, you have the correct cap, now you have two. So what are you going to do with one of them? I see a hole in your future......holy Shiite.
Ok so the vent line on the truck was fine, but i went ahead and swapped the rubber hose to the filler neck. That was in pretty bad shape. I also put the proper pump housing in the truck as well. It is still building up pressure but it seems to be normal. I haven't really driven the truck enough yet to see if it fixed it. But for now it seems normal. I also changed the fuel filter as well and clean up the fuel strainer filter on the bottom of the pump.
OK, now go to Harbor Freight and buy a fuel pressure guage to connect to the schrader valve and read the pressure at the fuel rail. S/B 36 psi plus or minus a few.
A good healthy fuel system should build up a noticeable pressure with a healthy hiss when you unscrew the cap.
When you turn the key from off to pos II does the fuel pump come on?
Are there any visible leaks or strong smell of gas?
If not, you should be good to go?
