I bought my 1996 discovery SD mid summer, with 134k miles. There were a few issues with it, most of them I have fixed. The most recent issue was a terribly cracked fuel filler hose. When pumping gas I had to keep my finger on the pump trigger and rapidly pull and release while filling so my precious gas wouldn't drip to the ground. Anyways, I randomly decided to call and check on recalls, specifically regarding the fuel tank recall I saw online. To my surprise, the recall was open! I made an appointment with Land Rover Hinsdale, brought them 2" and 3/4" hosing from CarQuest. They said they would be happy to use it, as long as it fit. I paid Under $25 for all the hosing, received a free replacement fuel tank, free hose install (filler and breather) and they even did a courtesy express detail of the exterior.... Epic win? Considering I would've had to drop the tank to install the new hoses myself I think so!
