Hello Good People,
Thanks to OverRover (the next president) for pointing me in the direction of a coolant cap with sensor from the Range Rover Classic. The cap is a plug-n-play but I would still need the sensor components to get up and running.
I also saw the wiring harness and alarm for this cap on eBay
So the mod starts to weigh on the wallet a bit.
Question: Does anyone know of another wire harness/alarm option that would do the same job with the RRC PRC7925 Cap? Maybe something from a Ford, or either a computer store?
Seems like a simple and practical enough mod for the truck that would be useful. I understand this isn't for everyone which is totally fine. I am simply seeking knowledge to do this while spending fewer coin.
I doubt anything will be plug and play, but its can't be that complicated of a circuit. I'm guessing it needs some sort of low voltage applied and when the coolant level drops it opens or closes the circuit and trips an audible alarm and/or alarm light.
Just FYI, D1's have an audible Low Coolant Alarm built in from factory. Just listen for the "waterfall" on the passenger side!!
