Default High idle on 96' Disco

When I first picked up the car it had a dead battery. The dealer replaced the battery, but since the battery was disconnected the radio displays the word code and needs the radio code in order to function, and the idle seems to be set around 1100rpm. I had the car on a rack and went over all of the possible issues with a trusted mechanic. We changed the IAC, cleaned the throttle body and MAF, replaced the fuel filter, and checked the O2 sensors. None of these fixes seemed to remedy the issue as the car still steadily idles around 1100. Occasionally it will idle down to 800 or so. I know this isn't hurting anything but I'd like to try and get it sorted. From what I've heard the next step is to go to a Land Rover dealership and get an idle relearn procedure done?

I'm kind of in the dark on this one, feedback would be great!

Thanks!

I went thru all the home remedy methods to get my high idle down, ended up with a used IACV (it would not relearn a brand new one) and ECU from same donor vehicle. Perhaps someone will post about a good way to force a reset of adaptive values. But I think you need an advanced OBDII computer, not a $129 one like I have. Check with your indy shops. Shorting disconnected battery cables and leaving battery off (like a dead battery) won't do it.

$35. On the GEMS and Lucas systems, there is a mechanical base idle under a plug on the throttle body that can be tinkered with. On the Bosch that is not avaialble (like on a D2). Having owned a Ford F250, I learned that adjusting base idle was not always the best first choice.

It's absolutely not the best first choice and it should only be done while hooked up to a diagnostic.
