I now understand what you are saying Buzz.
That makes sense, there is enough extra oil in the filter to make up for the lack of oil in the sump.

When you consider that some Discos hit extreme angles when mod shocks are extended up and twisted, some extra oil might be just the thing.... it would be yuck to be rock crawling and have the oil light come on.

But you forget, or maybe you didnt know, the DI oil pan has baffles in it to prevent oil starvation while pushing the truck to its limits.

But those limits might be exceeded by the combination of mod suspension (non factory) and sludge build up. And I have not had the oil pan off yet, I'm skeered of the dark, and it looks pretty dark in there whe I drain the oil.

Yup diesel oil rotella T 15/40!(Memphis heat) Great stuff done last two changes with it and already notice smoother quieter motor and just better all around feel to vehicle.
