The Rover V8 is actually the old Buick 215. That's how you'll find most of the carburetor applications listed.

Yes I know the whole story behind it but I guess I didn't put the idea together . Buick used it such a short time that it didn't even cross my mind that I could find carbs for it . I'm not really worried about the FI system on the rover 8 really. I'm more worried about the engine itself . But time will tell. I hope it gives me a long life but if not I have plenty of options . I really have to feel the disco out a bit before I make any personal assumptions . I have only driven it one time on the road and it was stripped and gutted after that for rust repair . I drive it around the property though and the 8 sounds smooth . It has around 158k on it . Thank you for pointing out the connection to Buick again that does open up a few avenues .

Hello Paul,

Thanks for catching my slip of the keyboard of adding an "A".
It is indeed RV4, as in ilco X239 RV4
This is an image of my key.

Toran,
You should check out the premium version of that key. I always try to have a handful around just in case I need to make extra keys for ignition switches or door handles. I special order them through my local True Value hardware store. They sell them in bags of 5 and they're not much more than the metal RV4 in the same picture.
Cheers,
Paul

If you just ask for ILCO RV4-P you'll get the key with the black plastic end. The all steel version is simply ILCO RV-4. If you go to a True Value or Ace, they'll probably have the standard key on that carousel they have need the key cutting machines. I get a great price on the keys when I buy them because I'll buy 50 at a time. i don't think I paid much more than $1.20 a piece. If you only go in and try to buy one, the price may be a bit more. They may not even be willing to order just one for you. Maybe it's time for you guys to put together a group buy.

Thanks so much Paul. I will try and hit up a Ace tonight and see if it's something available. I take it you have the keys cut by them as well?

Yes, I have a couple of old timers who cut all my keys at the local True Value. For whatever reason, Rover keys seem to present a problem for most people cutting these keys for the first time.
