I'm not offended and I know Danny's blunt. But, he was wrong (a little passionate about it) and I pointed it out, that was all. The rest was just messing around.

We're cool, I just didn't want you getting your panties in a bunch. I have just a few comments, but as I said it is your rig so do as you like.

One note, the 200 pound estimate for an off-road bumper is grossly exaggerated. Mine weighs about 80 pounds, and I'm sure that's at least 20-30 pounds more than an ARB. My 10k winch weighs 58 pounds, so my rather heavy-duty setup weighs about 140 total. I can't imagine the need for more than that. Considering I took off at least 40 pounds of stock equipment when I fitted the bumper, it only adds about 100 pounds to the rig, and most of that is the winch. It lowered the front end less than 1/4".

How exactly was Danny Lee wrong? Seems to me he was making a valid point that installing something that looks cool but doesn't fulfill its nominal purpose is practically the definition of posing. Now if that doesn't bother you, pose away. They do look cool, but I can't say I'd go for the liability myself.

He is wrong to say that I need a LR brush guard to look cool and that I need a real identity. Remeber? You agreed with him. WTF does a brush guard have to do with identity? I'm the same person regardless of what I'm driving. And I'm starting to disagree with you. The guy's not blunt, he's a ***** bag.

Been happy all day Danny boy. I see that trying to rattle cages is your thing around here. Carry on.

You try to insult me, ok. You move on to try to insult the great Republic of Texas, ok, sure.

I didn't come here with attitude as you say. You tried to insult me for saying I like the way my brush guard looks on my truck. You got psychological and claimed that I need an identity. Don't get psychological Danny boy, you're out of your league.

Well if we hurt your feelings then you failed to truly understand what we were saying.

As far as using red -lined text , that is standard in technical writing and has been for eons.

You resort to sexual insults instead of an intelligent response, and now I am wrong and you're beginning to disagree with others???

I can't help it if I am the embodiment of cool, always have been, at times it was a curse, but I am accustomed to it by now. Carly Simon even wrote a song about it.

Go back under the porch with the rest of the pups until you do grow up! If you didn't act like such an idiot, it might not show as quickly. Try that and see how it works.

Now can we move on?

I am a full member of the League Of ExtraOrdinary Gentlemen and Rover Owners.

Try traveling outside of Texas, maybe your understanding of reality will improve.

If my observations bother you, I just could not resist poking a little fun.

Surely you can understand that, did you ever see the Redneck Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Bill Envil and Larry the CableGuy? Don't be so serious.

Two rambling replies of half truths and distortions, and I bet you're still smoking. Nice. How old did you say you are? 50? Really?

I rocked a OEM brush guard for years, it looks good and does not offer the protection of a ARB, but who cares?
If you want looks and not function then go for it, check junk yards.
Most are rusted to shadows by now, unless you get a ABS plastic one, check the UK e-bay for those.
