Default My MAF is whistling

Got under the hood this morning to do my weekly fluid check & herd this whistling. Narrowed it down to the MAF area & thought I'd deal with it this evening as I did check the connections & clips which none seemed loose or out of place. On the way to work, my cruise control quit working (like I turned it off) leading me to believe it's a vacuum leak, but I don't think there's a vacuum line going to the MAF (correct me if I'm wrong). The Disco is running fine, it's not missing, and there were no codes that popped up on the UltraGauge during the rest of my drive to work. I've had the occasional P1179 code that comes up periodically though, but not for a week or so. Thoughts??

Well, the connection between the MAF and the throttle plate is all vacuum. But you are correct that there is not a separate vac line to the MAF itself. A wet rag moved around to under places you can feel but not see sometimes changes the noise, can be a split hose, etc. Sometimes you can hunt with a short piece of rubber hose, listening thru it to muffle out other noises.

You might be missing the O-ring that goes in between the MAF and the air box. I had the same issue. I just went down to the auto parts store and found and O-ring that would fit and it fixed the issue.
