OK I am new to this forum. I just got give my 95 Disco 1 3.9L V8 by my cousin. Was told that only the starter needed replaced (which it definitely did, it was BROKE). It didn't come with a battery either. I bought a BRAND NEW battery from work and a REMAN starter. All connected up, correctly. All fuses are good! All relays are good! When I turn the key nothing happens. There is no crank, there is no start, AT ALL! Everything is plugged in as it should. When I turn the key I can hear, and physically feel the starter relay trying to work. However, the fuel pump DOES NOT engage, there is no signs of cranking, and there is no signs of starter engaging. The flashers were flickering, so from reading on the forum I left the key in the one position and hit the inertira switch and waiting 5 minutes and the flashers did NOT turn off, and the Disco still would not crank or start. So then I took the key out (NO I DO NOT HAVE A CHIPPED KEY OR A FOB) shut the door and locked/unlocked the doors 5 times in a row. This disabled the flashers, but I still have a no crank no start and I am honestly out of ideas on what can be going on here. ALL THE LIGHTS WORK, the stereo DOES NOT work, the fans DO NOT work (which the fans and stereo are the least of my worries right now). ALL THE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN. THE WIPERS WORK. I am trying to get this baby on the road. PLEASE HELP ME I AM OUT OF IDEAS!!!

Thanks!

Disconnect the battery (positive lead) for about 15 minutes. The alarm uses a hood switch on the drivers side inner fender, before you reconnect the battery push that switch down or lay something on it and then connect the battery positive lead. Disconnecting the battery will reset the alarm, hopefully reconnecting it with the hood switch depressed should do the trick. There is a diagnostic box under the passenger seat which has a red LED display. You may have to remove the seat to see the display. When you reconnect the battery it should show nothing or two numbers.

Good luck, if the display is lit with numbers post them here.

I have disconnect and even removed the battery several times. The alarm is disarmed but it still will not crank or start.

OK I did what you suggested. I held down the hood sensor and disconnected positive battery cable. Waited 15 minutes. Went to passenger side seat no light no numbers. Reconnected everything. No crank no start. Checked ALL THE YELLOW relays by buying new ones and replacing them ALL. Still ha ING same issue. I know I DO NOT have a key fob or a chipped key. On the other hand today got my lock cylinder off, removed the barrel (part key slides into) and all the brassame pieces fell out of it. So I figured oh what the hell I'll use a screwdriver I don't care. Put the ignition lock cylinder back together and back into my 95 Land Rover Disco 1 and tried to start it. No alarm went off, no hazard lights, clicking from the starter relay, 1 click in the cylinder, fuel pump does not engaged and no noise from the starter at all. Now what?
