Oxygen sensor plug help needed
Couple o2 sensor connection questions for y'all.
First, if anyone's replaced one, meaning the plug part thats wired into the harness, do you have a particular part number, specifically one for an auto parts store brand. I have to do mine kinda quick and can't wait on the mail. I've looked but keep seeing two and three wire types, mines 4/four wire.
Second, any recommendations for wire connection?
Solder, crimp on, heat shrink? It's gonna be a bitch to do it it because it's my LHD upstream. Its between the back of the block and the firewall.
I can clearly see an end of one wire with the clip that attaches in the plug to the terminal is pulled out and a second looks shady. I don't feel comfortable trying to just push it in.
I can see that the passenger sides been already replaced by the previous owner. It's gray and newer looking compared to the LH which is orange and just looks beat up.
I've been having SERIOUS rich running conditions. I can just smell the fuel out the exhaust and I've had to clean serious carbon off plugs, o2 sensors and the tail pipe. I have no codes but in the past I had one for an upstream o2 sensor heater fault so I'm confident I've found the culprit.
I hate reinventing the wheel so I'm reaching out. Thanks y'all.

if it's gotta be quick, I would suggest you go to an auto parts store that's willing to help and they usually can come up with a connector for you that will fit your sensor as it should
I should say I found none specific to rovers but, again, by picture, those for certain Hondas and Acuras appear to be a dead on match.
My plug being bad however I can cut the one end off and wire in with it.
Are our O2 sensors just voltage driven? No fancy transmissions/pulses/data through the wires, that would otherwise prevent a general electrical connection between the wires?
