p0300 random misfire and p0451
Pressure sensor (on fuel pump) signal fault and......misfire excessive emissions fault.
Yep, the engine is liking vacuum again with the an open crankcase vent. I'm concerned with the two faults you have remaining if one doesn't cause the other. If you can find and fix the fuel tank pressure sensor signal fault then it may clear the other because your throttle position sensor and the pressure sensor are tied together and a misfire for emissions is usually fuel related, not ignition related.

OK sounds good I'm hoping that one code has to do with the other just like you said. I think I'll try to go to a junk yard and pull a fuel pump to get the pressure sensor. I'll probably have to replace the entire pump. And I suppose I should also replace the fuel filter as well. Do you think that this would be the way to go. Thanks for the help BTW.
Sounds like a plan. I believe the signal error might be a melted wire connector issue and it's easy to check that by removing the cover plate in the cargo bay, the connectors will be in plain view and there's one up stream as well that gets bunged up by corrosion, hard to see it unless your really looking for it. Pumps can be pricey depending on where you get em, most of us just replace the actual pump motor and not the frame, that's the far less expensive route. See what you can find on the connectors. It's no problem, glad to help out.
Hi just changed a fuel filter. It runs slightly better now, but is still throwing out the fuel tank pressure sensor code. Would buy a new sensor help? If so could I get a universal one or would it have to be made for my car? Thanks.
Not to put my foot on your neck but........you don't even know if it's a connector/wire issue yet? Explain how a new sensor fixes corroded wire connectors or splices wire back together? Cart before the horse. If after checking for connector/wire issues that you have none then if it where me I'd find a used fuel pump cage from a 98 or newer Disco and swap it or if you have the cash and don't want to worry, buy a brand new pump assembly for an AEL Disco.....eh.
very good point. As far as the connections and wires for the sensor goes. I checked the connections at the fuel pump. They appear to be fine. The cover plate was missing all the screws, and it was just floating beneath the rubber/foam spacer and the rug. I later replaced the screws. The pump was also floating. As the locking ring wasn't in place. So at first I thought this could do it, but after securing it in and erasing the codes, the p0451 code came back. My next step is to check upstream. By any chance do you know where the connections are? I know you said it's upstream but is it near the charcoal chamber or somewhere under the car? Thanks
Under vehicle, near fuel tank, drivers side inner rear wheel well, green/pink wire and a black wire. That connector is C407. That is the tank pressure sensor connector and it's in a spot that gets allot of wheel debris.
By the way, good catch on the cover and fuel pump mount ring. I would've thought exactly like you. Was there a rubber gasket still with the ring?
......and the locked light bulb might not be working, not hard to check the bulb, a few screws. Once you know the bulb is good it's usually the switch or it's connector.....connectors again.
