Do you have an OBD2 monitor that can read O2 sensor voltages? Or short/long term fuel ratios?

I just had similar issue with my 97'. My wires on the Knock sensor and Crankshaft sensor were touching due to beat down by oil, heat and whatever else. I cut about 10" up the wire to open it up and electrical taped the wires apart. Cranked up and ran smoothly 1st time in a while. Might want to just check those 2 things closely.

Was just wondering if yours was running similarly to mine. I replaced the fuel filter to know avail and will be replacing the gas cap with the proper vented unit. However, per my other thread the truck has a more serious issue, that is most likely related to this. I'll come back when I have a solution. Let me know if you figure yours out in the mean time.

Problem solved! So, the o2 sensors I ordered came in today. I installed them this afternoon and ....... it still ran the same. Horrible. It had a clutch job some time recently before I bought it. And the wiring going to the o2 sensors seamed out of wack. I was able to find a wiring diagram with colors going to the sensors and discovers that they were all plugged into the wrong plugs. Now it runs like a new truck. So at least in this whole process I stopped the fuel pressure bleeding off problem. And it may or may not have needed the o2 sensors to run correctly but probably was due anyways.
