Ummmm....one should always consider proximity to Wal-Mart, auto part stores, and sporting goods stores with guns and ammo when choosing where to live. To do otherwise is just silly. lol.

I have a converted trappers cabin, 170 years old, on 30 acres in NW CT I could sell you. Then my wife and I can retire to Cape Breton Island.

I cannot imagine living in NYC. Way too congtested.
And Phillie? OMG.
Not to criticize either, just cannot concieve staying there very long. Both nice to visit for some unique things each having its own appeal. I just cannot seeing spending a lot of time there.
Pittsburgh isn't that wonderful either. Thank God we are not right in the middle of it.

I lived for years in Hell's Kitchen on 44th between 9th and 10th Ave. Even though I lived in midtown Manhattan, I always had a car or truck so I could get out of town whenever I wanted. Hell, I think today, the parking space I used to rent near my apartment must cost as much per month as my one bedroom did back in 1985! I enjoy the city buy also love the rustic solitude of NW CT and if you've never been to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, you owe yourself a memorable vacation.

Man you guys, Grand Rapids is the largest city in Michigan by population, 2nd by size, I can drive from one side to the other in under 30 min during rush hour.
15 min in any direction and I'm officially in the country, 30 min in any direction and I hit a lake, one of them you may have heard of before.
1 hour and nothing but off road trails, 3 hours and no cell service, no cable, no stores, no nothing, just all the trails you could want, all the wild game and fish you can land and during the winter on a cloudless night you can see the Northern Lights.
I hate the city, I cannot wait to move.
