I'm using a 180 stant super stat out of an older Chevy 350. You just have to drill an 1/8" weep hole in the front of it and it works like a champ

Yes, you want a 180 which is actually the correct one. Here's why: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...e2/#post208408

Note on weep holes and jiggle pins - those go at the 12:00 position, they allow bubbles to pass and not form a steam pocket behind the stat. And if in doubt about stats, put them to the test before installation. Be sure to ask SWMBO for the proper pan to use. This is important to maintain the balance of life, I don't do kitchen and she don't come under the shade tree except to bring beverages.

Default Thanks for all of the Replies

Now that the radiator is at the shop, besides ordering new hoses do I need to do anything else? Like flushing coolant out of the engine or anything? If so, how would I do this? Thanks for the replies! I am learning as I go, and you people are making it much easier.

With the thermostat housing removed stick your garden hose in the top of the engine, turn it on and flush the block and heads.
Once the water comes out clear you're good to go.
Now stick the garden hose in one of the heater hoses, flush it too until clear.
Then let it sit while you wait for the radiator to be finished.
