Default remote

My local junk yard has a 1996 disco I and it has a remote. I know I need to program it to my truck, but if I pull the Green alarm box from the truck with the remote will it work. or do I need some other things?

Alarm control module is paired with the Engine Control Module under the hood. If you take one, you have to take the other

that's what I was afraid of. I went back to pull the ECM and it had a huge hole in the bottom back and massive corrosion on the boards so I guess I will have to wait till I get a better scanner/programmer.

How much did they want for it? I'd snag it if it's cheap and try it. They're not always paired....

It was $35 for both alarm control module and the ECM so I will see if it works.

See how bad the ECM circuit board really is. If it's just surface corrosion it's not a big deal to clean it up.

well the ECM is toast. looks like water got in it and shorted out. Finally got some time to look it over.

I changed out the Green 10AS box with another from a newer truck 98, and it worked with no problems. Give it a try!
