Good luck with that keep us in the loop, did you try grounding the BLK/RED stripe wire?

No did not ground them. In the one version of the alarm it was written that they grounded it.... but there was only one BLK/R in that discussion. In the other version of the alarm and wiring; like I have, there is two Blk/R and in that version from what I understood is they said to just tie them together. I certainly can try grounding that too though.

I did ask for clarity.... and no one answered.... which side of the two Blk/Rd did they tie together (or ground for that matter) The side coming out of the alarm plug or the side coming out from the dash/loom. I tied loom side together.

Try tying the the alarm side. maybe its' just like grounding the single wire, I'm only guessing at this point though.

Folks come and go fairly regularly here for many reasons. Not everyone is into maintaining these nor do they have the tools, resources, funds or patience. It's a hobby or necessity to most of us who've been around, we like what we have and keep them running. Most of us don't follow the crowd either, we do our own thing or we work in a field that allows to understand some of the more difficult aspects.

If you not getting a CEL prior to hitting the starter you most definitely have an ECU that's not right. Try changing it out with another, fairly plug and play but may need to have the idle reset which is an inexpensive charge.

. Tied wires on both sides now ....... Alarm as before is no longer going off

. replaced CHECK ENGINE Light (CEL) fuse. NO CHANGE

. Took out alarm control unit. Took apart. Cleaned up corrosion inside and out. NO CHANGE

. Got key to work in door. Did code starting at locked (1Unlock 5L 1Unlock 5Lock) to cancel immobilization - NO CHANGE Still no CEL, still no fire. Engine spins.... .

I don't think the ECU you have is gonna cut it like you hope. Paul Grant can probably get you one within a few days.
