Question Scratching head

I have a SQUEAK in MJ that appears to be coming from the transfer case selector area. Under acceleration it can be heard, foot off gas nothing, quit. Then it a bump coasting you get the sound again.
Is it possible that the linkage is the source since we have been in deep water and mud for the past week at the land. Deep meaning 12" max but clay all over the darn place.
Other than:
Leaking seals at
1. Windshield
2. Cargo windows BOTH (bought the RS need LS)
3. 5th door
Other than that it is a good as it gets as far as everything else.

Mr. George -

See http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...ass_Sealer.htm for the window / windshield leaks

As far as the clay mud, no telling how much you'll have to wash out from the bottom side. It could be packed into places and make noise.

My squeak was from the center silencer bracket, right need the tfer case. It broke apart....welding it back together did the trick.

Did some isolation work on today's jaunt out to the guest house.
1. Found RR seat NOT latched. That made it a LOT BETTER
2. Noise ONLY under acceleration. Quit all the other time
3. If you are in gar and moving then coast, blip the throttle, sound is in direct relationship to the blip.
I have a stethoscope for cars so will try and use that to isolate the noise better.
my GUESS is it is whatever is DIRECTLY under the cubby on the console.
Other than that and the leaks the $232.00 is running like a clock.

George,
Many of us have had a Transfer Case noise similar to what you described above.
Going to the heavier fluid 85W140 will quiet down a noisy T/C, if that is what you have. You can use that in the front and rear diff as well

That should smooth out a noisy center diff and would also do well in front and rear diffs.
