I am reading the RAVE and looking under Suspension - Steering...

Can someone PLEASE tell me what this thing is?

I think he means the steel disc and bushing thing that's hanging there.

I'll be honest, I've wondered what that is, too.

Yep! That's it. I have no idea what it is - but since it's a Land Rover there must be a good reason for it!

That is a harmonic balancer to take a vibration out of your frame that the engineers couldn't fix at the factory.
The D2's have one on their rear dif for the same reason.

What are you doing using the Oakmont Country Club Squirrel like that? If they knew, they would beat you with a sand wedge!
