I fixed the tail lights with some new bulb holders.I'm having the hardest time taking tht stalk off and when you say stalk you mean the left arm thing for the blinkers right? There should only be 2 screws right? Then it should pop right off?

Yes, left arm thing. Take the 2 screws off, then pull hard. You are going to think you broke it, but it snaps out hard. Here us a little write up I did a while back.

Good luck.

Do you still have the ecm and alarm unit? My 99 Disco 1 is immobilized, I was able to bypass the starter on the alarm unit and there is fuel at the fuel rail but, haven't figured out how to bypass the ignition system. It may not be possible to do so, I read in macassemble.com/discovery electrical troubleshooting that the alarm unit sends a signal to the ECM to immobilize and another signal to mobilize. How this can be done I'm not sure, my FOB doesn't work, I changed the battery but, cannot resynchronize due to it being immobilized. For some reason my key wont lock or unlock the doors now, was able before immobilized. Headache for sure but, I have learned alot about the vehicle through the process.
