Talking

Met with my friend that has the used tire shop.

He got me a set of 5 Firestone Transforce HT 245x75x16 tires to replace the mis-matched 235x65x16 car tires that P.O. had been running.

Wider ( I am not thrilled )
Taller ( I am thrilled )
and a matched set of LT ( I am ecstatic ).

This is the only pic I got before it got dark...

Took off steering wheel, found out rotary coupler isn't worth a damn

Anyone got a spare one?

Finally got my steering damper installed re-installed. I painted the shield black, cleaned the ret, slapped a LandRover sticker on it, and coated the whole thing with clear acrylic.
I made the frame bracket from 1/4 aluminum angle and the drag link bracket is a tube clamp from Ballistic Fab with a couple tabs welded on by my boy, Jake1996D1.

Rover Tracks HD Tie Rod and Drag Link (thanks to fishEH) w/2 new greasable TREs, OME D2 dampener, and a refill of fresh Rotella. Also thoroughly cleaned the underside of the motor so I can identify oil leaks to tackle on the next oil change. BTW Brett, I liked your steering dampener idea but I had to put my own twist on it....

Removed the throttle body to clean it, and examined, cleaned and tested the IAC. Cleaned painted & lubricated the throttle/cruise control/kickdown linkage on the throttle body.
What a mess.

Replaced the rear output seal and thouroughly cleand the parking brake shoes, drum and fixin's. Fabricated some extention tabs for lights of the SD Rack. It's a DII rack on a DI so the light mounts are about at the window line. The new tabs send the liights back about 4" which, I hope, will reduce tha glare on the dash. Picked up a ladder a while back and had a chance to remove all the rust and coating and prep it down to the metal. All parts or hanging on the paint tree waiting for their next coat ;-)

The light's beam pattern will have more to due with the glare than how far out they stick. What lights and what beam pattern are they?
