Default What did my Disco 1 cost me?

Today I sat back for a while and thought about my disco on "Light Duty"
Over the past 3 years I have spent:
Rotoflex coupler $300
U-Joint conversion $220
Tyres 145/70/ R16 $800
Clutch pressure plate overall $12OO (+Rear oil seal)
Propshaft balance $120
CDL spider gears replacement $250
Brake pads $130
Turbo replacement $650
Terrafirma turbo hoses $120
Timing belt, Rockers, shaft & push rods $480
Terrafirma suspension kit Big Bore +2 $1150
Recon Transfer case 1.410 ratio $720
Stepping plates (Used & modified) $65
Canvas seat covers $45
Spot lights $48
9 x service (oil, filters) @ $80 per service $720
Total $7018-00 and I paid $6000-00 for the truck originally!
Then I thought: Are we crazy or what?
BUT: I love my Disco!!!!!!!

Thumbs up

[QUOTE=CUpgt;404647]A single joint shaft is stronger. My friends that wheel real real real hard in buggies wont touch DC shafts. They you high angle custom shafts. The thing you have to consider is pinion angle.

Hi CUpgt
Thank you for this valuable information.
Highly appreciated!!
Regards
Hercu

Decided to go on an adventure from one side of the state to the other today. 220 mile trip. The rover did real well on fuel and drive ability. Amazing how I can only get about 11-12 mpg around town but get 17-18mpg on the high way. And if I'm pulling a small trailer I get 19-20mpg. Maybe my math is off, or them friggin traffic lights are excessively to long. Lol anyways was a good day. Got to see a few gators up close and personal as well. Sunday drives are always a good way to wind down the weekend.
