So what did you do to your Disco today?

Finished installing Terrafirma +2" medium ProSport suspension kit, HD shock towers, securing rings, and stainless brake lines. Here it is on top of a mountain peak. We'll be up there again late tonight to watch the Perseid meteor shower, only accessible by Rover

bcbp, you only need one method, not both. Spring compressors can be a PITA, but are easier on the bushings. New shock towers and hardware are not required, though the kit comes with much hardware and I cleaned up the rest. By dislocate I mean they come out of the mounts before the shock bottoms out because they're shorter than stock. Maybe that's normal, maybe not. The rears are much easier. The shock is easier to get to, and the springs come out without any need for a bottle jack or spring compressor.
Finally got AM radio to work, PO had installed aftermarket radio and hooked to wrong antenna lead. Lead marked as "Right DIV" (right side diversity antenna) has AM/FM amp, antenna for other side has FM only amp. Of course this required dash plastic removal, and I discovered PO had trashed that. Went to a couple of salvage yards in two states (300 miles round trip, in the rain, but I was also testing another vehicle repair of fuel pumps for my station wagon) - and found that most dash plastic is trashed by people installing radios and partz vulturez removing radios. Ordered one from Paul Grant, which is what I should have done in the first place.
After reading the thread on oil changes, filters and the right fluid for the power steering, I got the job done. I went with the Wix . Tons of clearence on the large Wix filter #51459. The filter combo with Shell RotellaT is amazing. Idle speed is lower engine running is smoother. All in all a dramatic change. I am a believer. And I switched powersteering fluid to transmisson fluid. Big improvement there too. All in all it was a great hour spent. Now saving up for Terra firma shocks and springs! You gotta love a Land Rover!
