the plastic radiator plug blew the top off of it on the trail. found a self threading-ish looking bolt on the firewall. Cut a gasket out of the leather flap on my tool kit. used a water bottle cap as a backing washer and made it back to camp without losing another drop of coolant. Found the top of the plug down in the battery box, so back at camp I got the threaded part out, drilled through the center of it and bolted the plug back together with the help of a bit of high temp rtv. Then drove home 250 miles with no more leaks

Installed my new lower front shock mounts and discovered a blown shock and a SHOT wheel bearing. Pulled the stock panhard in preperation for my custom adjustable bar and ordered parts for wheel bearings. Also put the rear shocks on the front and threw some 12" Bilstein 5150s on the rear. May be a little soft but I had them laying around and I was in a bind. We will see how it drives when I get the wheel bearings changed. Ought to have my HD CVs and axles soon as well so hopefully I can knock it all out in one shot.

Actually there was a lot of grinding of the teeth while tightening it. just knew it wasnt going to hold. We ran straight for camp and I am not sure how much longer it would have held. When i removed the threaded part from the radiator, it was pretty roached. The bolt and washer fix that came second was much better.

Excellent for the axle twisters on sandy trails.
Looking at the dislocating cone on the axle, I wondered if mine is installed wrongly on top?

Painted the new panhard bar yesterday afternoon and installed it this afternoon. Centered my axle back up and adjusted my drag link. Steering wheel is actually straight for the first time in years! Now I just need my wheel bearings, diff bearings and Rovertracks front axles/CVs to get here and I'll be in business!
