Peeled the ghetto tint off my front windows. Spent an hour scrubbing with Goof-Off to get rid of the glue. (Old Guys don't care about how cool we look, we need to be able to see!)
Jake- nice headers! Where did you find those?

I got them off a guy used.. They are the plasma coasted Janspeed headers, I think D&D sells them but I got them used from a buddy. They had some rust on them so I cleaned them up and resprayed them with the cheap header coating just to make them look pretty. Cant wait to finish up the rest of the crap and have my truck back together.

Smile First Post - 1997 LRD SE7

Thanks to all the previous posters on the topics of
P1314, P3999 ODB codes and the many miscellaneous repair topics and
pointers to guides and manuals; they really helped me!

My first LandRover is from a friend in Capitola, CA; an SE7 Black, 170,000.

It ran OK, but the ABS light, Check Engine LIght were on when I picked it up.
THe brakes work fine for me, I'm a slow driver, and the ABS will go out then
come on, then go out over the course of the day.

Many ODB codes showed up initially, misfiring, O2 sensors, etc.
So; changed plugs to Champion, gapped to .033 to .038; old ones were nice looking brown but gap was up to .045; changed out the plug wires too.

Ran into first issue here, as I didn't notice the wires hadn't seated FIRMLY
on the plugs on cylinders 3 and 5. kept the code 1314 going...

After a few days, fixed the plug wire connections, and went on the replace the back O2 sensor on the passenger side. This made the O2 code go away
for good. code was 1193 i think.

Passed SMOG with flying colors at ISA in Scotts Valley. Headed to DMV
in Capitola and it's now mine, and registered... $103 per year for DMV-sweet.

As a note, the O2 sensor was $120. at Winchester, and I picked up an Overflow bottle for the Radiator for $60.00 new. Again, happy with the
prices overall of parts, except for I got a quote for $808 for the MAF sensor
at O'Reilly's... Guess I won't shop there...

Again, thanks for the info, support, advice,
Happy Rovering !

Picked up a rear ladder for $45 on Craigslist, now to find a cheap roof basket. Maybe half basket, although it reminds me of a receding hairline.

Nothing big. Just replaced a serpentine belt that left my Disco and my family stranded on the freeway for about an hour until the flatbed arrived. Twenty-five bucks and fifteen minutes later and she's back to draining me of gas money. I do love her though.

Lots of work ahead of me today, waking up at 11:30 doesn't help.

-Oil pump
-Radiator
-New gaskets
-Timing chain and sprocket

Big day.

After installing my ultragauge I realized I was running warm. I installed the Chevy fan clutch and all is well. I didn't have a drill so I used a circular hand file I had in my shed.

Having an all war on my front drive shaft. So far I'm winning, four of the nuts had to be dremeled and chiseled off. Now the snap rings won't come off and I bent a pair of c clamp pliers. Any tips? Iv used pb and a few whacks with a socket and hammer? The holes looked to small for needle nose.
