The stock alloys hold a bead better than any non-beadlock steel wheel, period. They are lighter and won't dent. Ian knows this, he's just being a dork.
Thanks for the compliments, guys.
Slapped some POR15 on the trailing arms and mounts at lunch today.
Hmmmmm, what color should the final coat be?

I would but I think the gems would come off and just look tacky then. Maybe Red to match my diffs.

Default 1st 4WD voyage for me.

I've only had the beastie about a week and a half and finally got the chance to see what kind of ride it has off-road... WOW! The only other 4WD that I've had was a 4WD Isuzu mini pick-up about 15 years ago. It was rough as hell off-road. This Disco is oh, so, SMOOTH! I think that I'm in love, baby... oh, yeah.

Taken after a run to the bank after work. Redington Pass on the East end of Tucson, Arizona. 4:45 pm. No airing down of tires or anything, just driven out and let loose. 188,000 miles. Single owner, prior to me (bought it for $2800). Well maintained. 1999 Discovery Series 1. I put the black hood skin on yesterday. Bumpers, rack and winch coming soon! =)

Default Shocks toasted

(Quote)Took out the 3" linear springs and reinstalled the 3" progressive springs.
Determined my shocks are toast.
Installed HD TerraFirma retainer rings.(Quote)

With all the nice things you are doing on your truck I recommend to think on installing this Terrafirma Big Bore +2 shocks.
I am very impresseded

Fox or Bilstien ftw. We are a good bit past +2. I know Brett runs 11" shocks now and I have a feeling he cant stay away from the short body blings! Not knocking the TFs but being able to user rebuild and revalve along with picking length to best fit your setup is really hard to beat.

The TerraFirma Bog Bores look a lot like the Rancho 9000's actually. My next shock will be something rebuildable, either a Fox 2.0 Emulsion or Bilstein 7100 Short Body.

And the trailing arms are being painted red. I have about half a can of Red Caliper paint left from my diffs.
