yesterday i installed my RTE steering stuff,



and today i started wiring my switches for my roof rack, what a pain

 

Got done removing the cylinder heads, going to send the heads to the shop on friday.

Man head gasket work is a beast. After doing this there should be nothing hard to do.

 

Adding this RTE A-bar to my safari gard "blade" bumper.. Should be sweet

 

Oh Turf. I was about to commend you on a very sano install on the light switches. Then I saw all the Zombie-pocalypse stuff. Tisk tisk.

 

Hahaha, the rocker covers are interchangeable so if i ever grow up i can change em. When it's all said and done i'll post some better pictures. I'ts gonna be sweet. I moved a lot of stuff around, like the hazard switch and some other stuff. They're even wired to headlight switched power so the lights only come on with the headlights

Just be happy im finally using real fittings, and not just twisting them together with electrical tape. Baby steps dude...

 

That's funny. When I wired my roof and bumper lights I specifically wired them straight to the battery. I can use them with headlights on or off and with the truck on or off.
Personal preference I guess. Did you use a relay for your lights and a fuse?
The fancy pants electrical guys wire their switches so by activating the switch it closes the ground not the hot. Safer or something, but I never did it that way, LOL.

 

What did we do TODAY ? Funny cuz it never seems to end but after 1 week of repairs I took her on a long ride today and now I know what all you asylum escapees are talking about . I love this truck ! Its a 94 Disco but I gotta say , its way easy to work on. Nothing else like it on the road and that helps ease the pain of my dirty and cut up hands. Last week I did the swivel pin fluid change. Left one leaked like a Chinese dam. Today , i drained her and threw in the LR swivel pin grease bag and it works like a charm . No leaks and definately giving my driveway a break from the leopard spots . Toss in a new back diff and I'm done........for now !

 

Asylum escapees is right. There is no known treatment for our condition, but as long as we have our Rovers most of us stay fairly stable.

 

had my rusty steel wheels powder coated. i was tired of the normal black look. "new" rear axle should be in later this week.
