Had some time this afternoon so I installed a Daystar hood vent kit I picked up at a local swap meet a few weeks ago.The kit is for a Jeep but I figured I could make it work on my D1. Daystar kit #KJ71048BK worked out pretty well, I'll see later this month how it works in the local deserts.
What were your temps prior to installing this kit?

I don't have an after market gauge on my truck to give you a hard number yet, but it got a little warm sometimes going slow through some rock and sand spots, I figured it cant hurt to evacuate some of the heat build up in the engine compartment though, I'll let you know how it works later this month.
