All this made me plug in the scanner on the weekly trip to Tractor Supply. Hmmmm... 154F when warmed up. Hanging open. Popped in a new 180F from ORielly as it was near by. Be sure to take the Felpro gasket number with you, a lot of auto store computer systems don't list a thermostat gasket for a Disco. My old stat was less than a year old and 180F from Autozone and not a fail safe model.

My gauge showed 8:00 position... The Rover gauge is not very precise.

Now temp goes up to 192F before stat operates first time, then settles down to 178-183. Local temps in the 40's, but we are expecting in the low teens tonite near Augusta. And 35 mph winds. Our one week of winter arrives!
