I noticed that recently I have been seeing some coolant loss, I think it is leaking from my throttle heater plate as the valley is wet and there is coolant sitting on the back of the motor. Is it possible to re seal it with RTV? I can only find replacement gaskets on rover's north and I don't even know if they will fit a newer intake that a 1998 4.0 has as the drawing includes an older 3.9 intake.

 

bypassed mine for a while, after it started leaking. recently saw some gasket material at autozone. decided to try it out. it has worked out for a couple of weeks

Hmmm...I actually have some gasket material laying around. Guess I will have to give that a shot.

 

Pulled the intake off today...at the throttle plate was not leaking! I have no clue where the coolant is coming from, the valley is still wet. Thermostat housing gasket was replaced with the head gaskets, I can't imagine it would be leaking? It doesn't look like it is, bottom of it is dry.
Any suggestions?

 

Loose hose clamp, recheck torque on manifold bolts

If you reused the coolant hoses they could be dry enough that they no longer seal no matter how tight the clamp is and when they are hot and under pressure leak a smidge I have seen this several times over the years on various vehicles

There is also that short heater core hose on the pass side front it could have easily got messed up on the hg job
