To the op, the tps should not read 0% at idle.
As Savannah stated, if the ecm see's 0%, then it may assume the tps is bad, causing people to lust after Bronco IIs...

 

I do miss my Full size Bronco. That 351 was awesome, but that push button automatic locking hubs was horrible.

 

Yep, you would need to "reserve" zero as an out of range condition to trigger code for TPS screwed up.
